My little one absolutely loved this book She is four and this is the first year that she really understands Santa and his reindeer and when she read that he didn t have time to feed them she got sad But after we got to the part about the reindeer dust, her eyes lit up and she got so excited I ve also been ordered to get the ingredients to make Reindeer Dust here at our house so I m very glad there was a recipe in the back of the book The illustrations were beautiful and the story was so cute This will definitely be added to our Christmas books that we read each year REVIEW Reindeer Dust by Kate DwyerGlowing with holiday cheer and goodwill, Reindeer Dust demonstrates the value of intuition and determination, of teamwork and cooperation, and a beautiful thematic I will always believe Families will enjoy sharing the story, illustrations, and recipe.
5 StarsSo I know it s after Christmas and all but my little guy found this on my tablet last night and wanted to read it I originally requested this from Netgalley so we could read it over the holiday break and we never got around to it Santa is frazzled and behind on Christmas Eve and forgets to feed his reindeer before their ride bad Santa It also happens to be a rather foggy evening and one little boy is concerned that Santa won t be able to find his way, so they mix up some Reindeer Dust and sprinkle it outside and when Santa comes, the reindeer are happy and so are this kids the next morning I think the concept is rather cute but the story isn t very well developed The Reindeer Dust was thought up by William so that Santa could see through the fog, or at least that is what they lead you to assume But it also had oatmeal in it Was it supposed to feed the reindeer as well It wasn t very clear what the purpose was exactly Also, the reindeer s hooves appeared to sparkle afterward eating the reindeer dust, going back to me thinking it was supposed to help Santa see through the fog.
On the plus side, the pictures were really cute and I really liked how it had a recipe in the back for kids to make their ownNote In finding the pics above online, I found this as well Makes WAY sense now, the food smell brings the reindeer So why the sparkles Maybe I am being dense but I do read a lot of children s books kiddo is 6 and this one just didn t make a lot of sense I received an arc copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review Thank you NetGalley
